Ocular Prosthesis in Dentistry - A Review

The management of an anoptholmic socket requires the combined effort of ophthalmologist and maxillofacial Prosthodontist. The surgeon provides the basis for successful rehabilitation. The maxillofacial Prosthodontist provides prosthetic treatment to the best of his ability. A through knowledge of the anatomy is necessary for successful treatment. The goal of any prosthetic treatment is to return the patient to society with a normal appearance. The aim of this review article was to show the fabrication of Ocular prosthesis which can be used to provide a cosmetic replacement for enucleated or eviscerated eyes.
